MALE AND FEMALE RELATIONSHIPS

MALE AND FEMALE RELATIONSHIPS

In what ways are female friendships different than those of male friendships?  In my latest book EATING THROUGH THE EARTH, we find a woman going into her senior years who has always been a “good girl.”  She longs to sow her wild oats and, when she does, she ends up feeling guilty and wanting to go back to the safety of her small Midwestern town.   There, she establishes a group which will span three generations of women, all with different needs and goals.

So just what is it that makes female relationships so rewarding and so enduring?  It is loyalty, common interests, the courage to dig beneath the surface of life?  What do you think makes females different than males in their ability to sustain lasting and meaningful relationships?
