colorful-day-productsATTENTION ALL PARENTS:  If you have a preschooler about ready for school, it’s a great time to up your nightly reading program.  Children learn more quickly when the spoken word is associated with something visual.  Early reading books are a great way to introduce children to the forms of letters as well as to the looks of common words.  I think you’ll find that the book A COLORFUL DAY just might fit into your child’s library.  It contains a wealth of colorful illustrations drawn by a child who understand what catches the eye of an eager youngster.  After reading the book, have your child draw pictures and then make up stories or rhyming phrases to go with their artwork.  You may be surprised by your child’s vivid imagination as s/he finds that words come easily with only a bit of personal effort!
